Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, was tragically murdered earlier this year, with her decapitated head being discovered by her own father. Her husband, Thomas, is currently on trial for her murder in Switzerland. Joksimovic’s body was found dismembered and allegedly “pureed” using a blender, with other parts dissolved in chemicals. The gruesome discovery was made after her children’s nursery contacted her parents due to concerns about her well-being.
When Joksimovic’s parents arrived at her home near Basel, Thomas initially claimed not to know where she was. He even cooked dinner and tucked their children into bed before her father began searching the house. It was during this search that he found her severed head in a garbage bag. Horrified, he fled the property and alerted the police.
Thomas, 41, was arrested the next day and reportedly confessed to the murder, though he claimed it was in self-defense after Joksimovic allegedly attacked him with a knife. The autopsy report revealed that she had been strangled before her body was dismembered with tools found in the house.
Joksimovic’s death has shocked Switzerland, particularly due to the brutal nature of the crime. Thomas’s appeal for release from custody has been denied, and he remains in jail as his trial continues.
This tragic case has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of domestic violence, and resources have been made available to those in similar situations.
