Eric Stonestreet, best known for his role in Modern Family, recently spoke about his experiences living in Kansas City and working in Hollywood. In an interview on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger,” the actor expressed his frustration with what he described as the “douchebaggery” of the entertainment industry. He highlighted how his time in Kansas City made him appreciate genuine interactions, contrasting them with the superficiality he encounters in Hollywood.

Stonestreet, who returns to Los Angeles for occasional work, acknowledged some perks of the industry, like being offered exotic fruit platters, but he emphasized the disconnect between real life and the Hollywood lifestyle. He also shared his disappointment about the rejection of a proposed Modern Family spinoff that would have focused on his and Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s characters living in Missouri. The decision not to move forward with the project left him and his co-star feeling hurt.

Despite this setback, Stonestreet remains open to future opportunities to reunite with the Modern Family cast. He mentioned the possibility of a Christmas special, inspired by British television traditions, as a potential way to bring the beloved characters back together for fans.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Stonestreet expressed his love for the role and his desire to continue the story. Although he acknowledges the business realities of television, he still hopes for a chance to revisit the world of Modern Family in some form.
