Neil Patrick Harris recently disclosed on The Howard Stern Show that he was paid $250,000 per episode during the final season of How I Met Your Mother. The actor, known for his role as Barney Stinson on the hit CBS sitcom, shared that while this amount was significant, he was very satisfied with his earnings. Harris, along with his co-stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, and Alyson Hannigan, all earned the same salary in the show’s last season.

Harris also mentioned that around the fourth and fifth seasons, he tried to negotiate a higher salary than his fellow cast members. However, some of his co-stars preferred to negotiate their pay as a group. Harris explained that his decision was influenced by his individual career and the aggressive negotiation tactics of his team, which included an agent, a manager, and an attorney, all fighting for his financial future.

Despite the pay negotiations, Harris expressed no regrets and clarified that he wasn’t trying to take money away from his colleagues but rather wanted his team to secure the best possible deal for him. He emphasized that each cast member had their own representatives working hard to maximize their earnings.

Harris’s openness about his pay and the negotiation process offers insight into the complexities of salary discussions in Hollywood, where agents and managers often play a crucial role in securing the best deals for their clients.
