Netflix’s latest limited series, The Perfect Couple, starring Nicole Kidman, has drawn mixed reactions since its release. Adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s 2018 novel, the six-part murder mystery centers around a wealthy Nantucket family and a wedding that takes a dark turn when a body washes up on the beach. The cast, including Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning, has received praise, but some viewers have called the show “inappropriate” and “perverted.” Kidman herself described the ensemble as “amazing,” while Schreiber noted the series’ “healthy dose of perversity.”

Critics are split, with The Guardian calling it a “classy detective drama” and The Telegraph dubbing it “top-notch trash.” The show currently holds a 60% score on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting its mixed reception. Despite this, viewers have commended Kidman’s portrayal of Greer Garrison Winbury, the matriarch of the wealthy Winbury family, as well as the gripping nature of the plot.
