Nadya Suleman, famously known as “Octomom,” has revealed that she enforces strict rules for her eight 16-year-old octuplets, including a complete ban on smartphones and social media. Suleman, who gave birth to the world’s first surviving octuplets in 2009, says she regrets being too lenient with her older children and has taken a much stricter approach with her youngest ones.

Her children share one phone strictly for communication, and Suleman insists that none of them will be allowed to date or have social media accounts until they turn 18. She believes social media is “toxic” and contributes to self-absorption, stating, “I don’t believe anyone should be allowed on until they’re 18 at least.” Instead, she focuses on teaching them values of service and humility to avoid entitlement.

Suleman, who lives with 11 of her 14 children in a modest three-bedroom California apartment, says her family maintains a strict ethical vegan diet, which also helps them save money. Despite their unconventional upbringing, her kids seem to appreciate her discipline. One daughter, Nariyah, expressed excitement about getting a job to help support her mother, while another son, Makai, said he looks forward to buying her “real gifts” in the future, though Suleman insists she values their handwritten letters more than material things.

Her parenting choices have sparked debate, with some applauding her effort to raise disciplined, socially aware kids, while others question whether her strict rules may be too limiting in today’s digital world.
