Swiss Olympic snowboarder Sophie Hediger has tragically died in an avalanche at the age of 26. The incident occurred on Monday at the Arosa ski resort, and her death was confirmed by Switzerland’s skiing federation on Tuesday. Hediger competed in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in the women’s snowboard cross and achieved significant success during her career, including two podium finishes in World Cup competitions during the 2023-24 season. She had just celebrated her 26th birthday on December 14.
