The Pentagon’s latest report on UFOs has revealed over 757 instances of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) reported between May 2023 and June 2024. Among these was a close call near New York, where a commercial plane narrowly avoided a “cylindrical object” while flying over the Atlantic Ocean. The airline crew reported the encounter to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which flagged it as a rare case posing a potential flight safety risk.
The Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is still investigating the incident, but no specific timeline or airline has been disclosed. Of the reported UAP cases, nearly 300 were explained as balloons, drones, or other terrestrial objects, yet hundreds remain unresolved due to insufficient data. The most commonly reported sightings included spherical or orb-like objects and unexplained flashing lights.
AARO’s report also highlighted the increasing role of Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites in UFO misidentifications, with many people mistaking their formation for alien crafts. Despite the mystery surrounding some cases, the report clarified, “To date, AARO has discovered no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology.”
The findings have reignited interest in UFO phenomena while stressing the importance of thorough investigations to separate misidentifications from truly unexplained events. As more cases are reported, the Pentagon aims to provide clarity while debunking any extraterrestrial assumptions.
