Pete Davidson has spent an estimated $200,000 on removing his tattoos, a process he began in 2020. The comedian, known for his extensive ink collection, said the decision was part of a personal transformation, influenced by his journey to sobriety and his evolving career.
Speaking on the Today show, Davidson admitted that the removal process has been painful, warning others to think carefully before getting tattoos. “It’s pretty terrible, so if anybody out there is watching and thinking about getting a tattoo, make sure you really want to get it,” he said.
Davidson, who has been sober since September, revealed that he gained 20 pounds and has been focusing on improving his mental and physical health. Last year, he checked into a wellness facility, having previously sought treatment for PTSD and borderline personality disorder.
He also explained that his tattoos had become a challenge in his acting career, requiring up to three hours of makeup to cover them during filming. “For some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much,” he joked. While he originally hoped to complete the removal process by 30, he is still undergoing treatments but remains committed to the change.
