Shocking footage from 2020 shows a drunk 23-year-old man jumping into a bear enclosure at the Warsaw Zoological Garden in Poland and attempting to wrestle a bear named Sabina. The man initially tried to escape by jumping into the water when the bear approached him. However, the situation escalated as he began wrestling with the bear, at one point holding its head underwater and grasping its ears before both swam off in different directions.

Sabina, an ex-circus bear accustomed to human presence, did not show the aggression expected from a wild animal, allowing the man to escape unscathed. The zoo later reported that the bear was physically unharmed but very stressed by the encounter. The man was rescued by firefighters and subsequently arrested.

The intruder was charged with animal cruelty, disturbing the peace, and violating COVID-19 rules for not wearing a mask. He was sentenced to 20 hours of community service per month and faced fines ranging from $1,200 to $7,400. The incident, which occurred shortly after the zoo reopened following a lockdown, drew widespread condemnation for the man’s reckless actions.

The footage has sparked a mix of outrage and disbelief on social media, with some criticizing the man’s irresponsible behavior and others expressing sympathy for the bear, which was placed in a stressful and dangerous situation due to human actions.
