A psychologist has shared insights on spotting psychopathic tendencies, revealing that body language can offer subtle clues. Research from McGill University, involving 608 adults, found that individuals who use expansive, open poses often exhibit higher levels of psychopathy, manipulation, and competitiveness. In contrast, those with slouched postures or who frequently shift their stance are more likely to have lower self-esteem.

Dr. Abigail Marsh, a neuroscientist at Georgetown University, adds that psychopathy manifests across various aspects of life, such as unethical behavior in relationships, work, and social interactions. Psychopaths often perceive others as naive or inferior, amplifying their manipulative tendencies.

Dr. Jaleel Mohammed, a consultant psychiatrist, highlights impulsivity and reckless behavior as hallmark traits. Unlike most people who consider consequences, individuals with psychopathic tendencies often act without regard for the risks posed to others.

While these traits can indicate potential psychopathy, experts caution that only licensed evaluations can confirm such diagnoses. Understanding these characteristics, however, can help people navigate relationships and interactions with greater awareness.
