Fatman Scoop, the renowned U.S. rapper, has passed away at the age of 53 after collapsing on stage during a concert in Hamden, Connecticut. His real name was Isaac Freeman III, and he was performing on August 30 when he suddenly fell ill. Footage from the concert shows Freeman struggling to breathe as he climbed the steps to the DJ booth, after which he was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Known as a ‘hype man’ in the music world, Fatman Scoop collaborated with several major artists, including Nick Cannon, Skrillex, Timbaland, Mariah Carey, and Missy Elliott. He was set to perform at the Reminisce Festival next month in Saint Helens, where he was considered a beloved figure.
