Russia has issued a World War III threat to NATO as Donald Trump continues to push for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now the deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, slammed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron for proposing a NATO-backed “coalition of the willing” to send military forces into Ukraine.
Medvedev accused the two leaders of deliberately escalating the conflict, stating that if NATO continues to provide military aid, Russia will consider it an act of war. He warned that any attempt to deploy NATO troops in Ukraine would result in direct military conflict between Russia and the alliance. His remarks were seen as an explicit threat that could involve Russia’s nuclear arsenal.

Trump, who has been negotiating a 30-day ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine, was also mentioned in Medvedev’s statement. The Russian official sarcastically suggested that Starmer and Macron should consult with Trump before making reckless decisions. The former US president recently warned of “devastating consequences” if Russia does not agree to peace terms.
Despite these threats, UK and French leaders insist that Putin must come to the table and negotiate an end to the war. Starmer emphasized that the moment for a ceasefire is now, urging Russia to stop its “barbaric attacks on Ukraine.” However, with tensions escalating between NATO and Russia, the success of Trump’s peace efforts remains uncertain.
