In 1990, British Airways Captain Tim Lancaster was nearly killed when he was sucked out of the cockpit window during a flight from Birmingham to Malaga. Just 13 minutes into the journey, the cockpit windows shattered, pulling Lancaster out of his seat with his head and torso dangling outside the plane. Fortunately, flight attendant Nigel Ogden grabbed Lancaster’s legs and, with the help of other crew members, held on while the co-pilot safely landed the plane.

Despite the terrifying situation, Lancaster miraculously survived with only minor injuries. Ogden also sustained some injuries during the ordeal. Lancaster later recalled being conscious but unable to breathe due to the force of the airflow outside the plane.

A simulation shared on YouTube by Zack D. Films recreated the horrifying moment, showing Lancaster hanging out of the plane while crew members worked together to save his life. Despite the chaotic scene, the plane successfully landed at Southampton Airport.

This incredible survival story highlights the quick thinking and bravery of the crew, who managed to prevent a catastrophic outcome.
