In 2004, a Dave Matthews Band tour bus accidentally dumped 800 pounds of human waste onto a sightseeing boat in Chicago. The incident, now revisited in a simulation by YouTuber Zack D. The bus driver, Stefan Wohl, released the blackwater tank without realizing a boat was passing underneath. Over three-quarters of the boat’s passengers were covered in the waste, leading to nausea and vomiting. The Illinois Attorney General described the liquid as foul-smelling and brownish-yellow in color.

Wohl pleaded guilty to reckless conduct, receiving a $10,000 fine, probation, and community service. The Dave Matthews Band settled by paying $200,000 to the State of Illinois and additional funds to local environmental groups.

The simulation of the event recently went viral, reigniting public disgust and shock over the bizarre and unfortunate incident that left so many people affected.
