Kennedy Littledike, a teenager from Nampa, Idaho, recently opened up about a harrowing car accident that left her hanging from a power line by her broken leg. The accident occurred while Kennedy and two friends were driving back from a mountain hike. Distracted and emotional after a recent breakup, Kennedy lost control of the car, which flipped multiple times, ejecting all three passengers. Tragically, Kennedy was thrown into a power line, where she dangled with severe injuries.
Kennedy recounted the terrifying experience in an interview, describing how her leg had broken over the power line, leaving her suspended above the ground. Her arm was also severely damaged, hanging by just the skin due to the force of the accident. Remarkably, she avoided bleeding out because the power line pinched off a major artery in her leg, and her arm was cauterized from being electrocuted.
It took emergency responders over an hour to rescue Kennedy, as they needed to turn off the power to the lines first. Despite the trauma and pain, Kennedy remained conscious and even expressed gratitude towards the rescuers. She underwent a total of 21 surgeries, including five amputations to save as much of her leg as possible. Eventually, her leg had to be amputated above the knee due to severe injuries and infection.
Kennedy has since become a public speaker, using her experience to spread positivity and inspire others. Despite the physical and emotional toll of the accident, she is grateful for the lessons learned and feels empowered to make a difference in the lives of others. She believes that surviving the ordeal has given her a new purpose and perspective on life.
