A group of high schoolers in Nantucket broke into a $2 million Airbnb property after the owner ignored a suspicious rental request. The teens staged an elaborate Halloween party, arriving in staggered groups based on grade levels. The party, which attracted attention due to noise complaints, saw the teens rearranging the home’s furniture, rolling up carpets, and carefully moving items like pillows and televisions to protect them.

The homeowner, Edith Lentini, was surprised to find minimal damage when she inspected the property. Despite being upset about the break-in, she found humor in the situation, even joking about the organizer’s potential as a professional party planner. The police became involved after receiving noise complaints and are conducting an investigation, though no charges have been filed yet.

Lentini expressed gratitude toward her neighbors for reporting the incident and noted how the teens took unusual care of her belongings. While sticky floors were the most significant damage, the meticulous party preparation left an impression.

The incident has raised discussions about the risks of Airbnb hosting and the clever lengths to which some will go to throw unauthorized events in high-value properties.
