A Tesla owner named Mario Zelaya from Canada shared his frustration after being locked out of his $140,000 car due to a battery issue. The vehicle automatically locked itself as the battery died, and since the Tesla doors require power to open, he was unable to access his car. To make matters worse, the battery wasn’t just drained, it needed to be completely replaced, which would cost a staggering $26,000.

Mario posted his ordeal on TikTok, calling the Tesla a “piece of trash” and expressing his dissatisfaction with the company’s response. He claimed Tesla ignored the issue and refused to explain why the battery had failed. His situation was made even more challenging because the proof of ownership papers were locked inside the car, forcing him to spend $30 to get another copy.

Replying to @Mario Zelaya Here’s an update and some clarifications on my dead ? Tesla. Also, someone is buying it tomorrow for $19K and is taking on the responsibility of opening up the car. I got 85 messages on FB Marketplace on it ?. Guess I’m selling it for cheap? #tesla #car

Zelaya bought the car in 2013, during a time when Tesla models had technical issues, including fluid leaks that could affect the battery. After reaching out to Transport Canada, an investigation was launched into the issue, and Mario stated that other Tesla owners have experienced similar problems. Frustrated with the brand, he sold the car and vowed never to buy another Tesla again, warning others to avoid the vehicles as well.
