The Pentagon Clears The Air On New Jersey Drone Rumors, Says There Is No ‘Mothership’

The Pentagon has denied claims that mysterious drones spotted over New Jersey originated from an Iranian “mothership.” Representative Jeff Van Drew alleged on Fox News that high-level sources informed him of a mothership off the U.S. East Coast deploying drones, calling for them to be shot down. However, Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh dismissed the allegations, stating there is no evidence linking the drones to any foreign entity or adversary.

Singh emphasized that the drones posed no threat to U.S. installations, and military assessments confirmed they were not hostile. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and New Jersey State Police, have been investigating the sightings, which reportedly involve small drone clusters and a possible fixed-wing aircraft. Witness reports date back several weeks, with no conclusions drawn on the drones’ origin.

This incident follows reports of similar unmanned aerial systems (UASs) near U.S. Air Force bases in the UK, where authorities determined the drones did not endanger base residents or infrastructure. Military leaders continue to monitor such activity closely.

The Pentagon’s clarification addresses growing public speculation fueled by conspiracy theories. While the sightings remain under investigation, officials maintain there is no evidence to support fears of a foreign “mothership”.
