Two Texas teens, Lane Burch, 18, and Kaine Villarreal, 19, have been arrested after a TikTok prank went too far. The pair allegedly approached two young children, ages 7 and 9, near Negley Elementary in Kyle, Texas, asking them if they “wanted to be kidnapped.” The frightened children immediately ran to their parents, who then contacted the police.

When officers arrived, the teens claimed they were simply reenacting a TikTok trend. However, law enforcement was not amused, arresting them on charges of terroristic threat. The local school district has been notified of the incident, though no additional details about the case have been released.

This is the second viral stunt in Texas to make headlines this week. In another case, a man posted a video of himself using a three-month-old baby to wipe snow off his car’s windshield. Authorities are investigating that incident, with the Port Arthur Police Chief stating an arrest warrant is likely forthcoming.

The arrests highlight growing concerns over dangerous social media trends and their real-world consequences. Law enforcement continues to warn against reckless pranks, emphasizing that what may seem like a joke online can quickly lead to criminal charges.
