Tom Selleck has expressed his frustration over the cancelation of Blue Bloods, the hit crime drama that ran for 14 years. Despite the show’s success, ranking in the top 10 TV shows of 2023-2024, Selleck feels it was taken for granted by the network. “My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go,” he said, acknowledging how consistently Blue Bloods dominated its Friday night time slot.

As the show prepares to air its final episodes in December, Selleck admitted it might take him a while to process that it’s over. Reflecting on the last day of shooting, he shared how odd it felt to not have the usual routine of preparing for a new week of filming. “There was no Monday,” he said, pointing out how ingrained the show had become in his life.

Selleck’s feelings of frustration come not just from the show’s cancelation but from the uncertainty it brings to his personal life. He revealed in a past interview that losing the income from Blue Bloods could affect his ability to maintain his 63-acre California ranch. “Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!” he joked, highlighting the financial impact of the cancelation.

The ranch, which Selleck purchased in 1988 after leaving Magnum, P.I., holds sentimental value for the actor, and he has invested time and money into maintaining it over the years. Now, with Blue Bloods coming to an end, the future of his ranch is uncertain, further adding to his disappointment.

While Selleck remains grateful for the show’s success, his comments reflect a broader frustration many actors feel when long-running, beloved series come to an end. For now, he will have time to adjust to life without the show that has been a major part of his career for more than a decade.
