In a recent interview with Dr. Phil on MeritTV, Donald Trump claimed that if Jesus Christ were counting the votes, he would win California in the upcoming election. Trump criticized California’s voting system, particularly its reliance on mail-in ballots, which he described as dishonest and corrupt. He argued that with a fair vote count, he would perform very well, especially among Hispanic voters, a demographic he claims to be more popular with than any other Republican.

Trump’s assertion comes despite the fact that Joe Biden won California by a large margin in the 2020 presidential election, securing 63% of the vote to Trump’s 34%. Trump used the interview to voice his grievances about what he sees as a biased media misrepresenting his campaign rhetoric. He emphasized that his statement about needing to win this election was not a suggestion to end future elections but rather a call to action for voters.

He also defended himself against accusations that he was hinting at ending democratic elections if re-elected. Trump explained that his comments to Christian voters were meant to underscore the importance of the current election, assuring them that they would only need to vote this one time to fix the country’s issues for good. He argued that his statements have been taken out of context to create misleading narratives.

Throughout the interview, Trump maintained his stance that the upcoming election is the most critical in U.S. history and stressed the need for an honest vote-counting process. His remarks have sparked further debate about electoral integrity and media representation in politics.
