Donald Trump has revoked Joe Biden’s access to classified intelligence briefings, a privilege traditionally extended to former U.S. presidents. Trump announced the decision on Truth Social, stating that Biden “could not be trusted” with sensitive information.
The move mirrors Biden’s own decision in 2021 to block Trump from intelligence briefings, citing his “erratic behavior” and concerns that he might “slip and say something.” Trump now argues that Biden’s alleged “poor memory,” as mentioned in a recent inquiry into classified documents, makes him unfit to receive briefings.

In addition to Biden, Trump has also removed security clearance for several former intelligence officials, including ex-CIA directors and military leaders like General Mark Milley. Trump’s administration claims some of these figures interfered in the 2020 election and has even launched an investigation into Milley’s conduct.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who led the U.S. pandemic response, has also been stripped of his security clearance. Trump insists that these removals are “very standard” and necessary to protect national security.
The decision is the latest in Trump’s efforts to reshape government policies and distance his administration from his predecessor. Whether this move will have broader implications remains to be seen.
