Trump Just Signed Executive Order That Makes Him One Of The Most Powerful Presidents To Ever Live

Donald Trump has signed an executive order bringing independent government agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) under direct White House control. The move significantly expands presidential authority, as these agencies have traditionally operated without direct oversight from the executive branch.

Under the order, agencies must submit draft regulations for presidential review and align their policies with Trump’s strategic goals. The Office of Management and Budget will oversee spending to ensure tax dollars are “spent wisely.” The only exception to the order is the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

Trump justified the decision by arguing that these agencies have “exercised enormous power over the American people without Presidential oversight.” His administration claims the order restores accountability, but critics warn it could erode the agencies’ independence and turn them into political tools.

The order marks a break from past presidents, including Barack Obama, who avoided interfering with independent agencies. With Trump now centralizing control, some experts believe this move makes him one of the most powerful presidents in U.S. history. Whether legal challenges arise against the order remains to be seen.
