Former President Donald Trump has attributed his survival from an assassination attempt to “God alone,” following the incident on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the rally, Trump was struck in the ear by a bullet while delivering a speech. The shooting resulted in two attendees being critically injured, with one, Corey Comperatore, passing away.

Trump initially released a statement on Truth Social, thanking the United States Secret Service and law enforcement for their swift response and expressing condolences to those affected. In a subsequent statement, he emphasized the role of divine intervention in preventing a greater tragedy and urged Americans to remain resilient and united in the face of evil.

The former president described the moment the bullet pierced his ear, noting the immediate realization of the danger. Despite the injury, Trump’s team has confirmed that he is doing well. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also condemned the attack, with Biden expressing gratitude for Trump’s safety and the Secret Service’s actions.

The FBI has identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, who was killed by Secret Service counter-snipers shortly after the attack. Trump expressed his intention to address the nation from Wisconsin, reaffirming his commitment to resilience and unity in his recent statement.
