Trump Says Nuclear Weapons, Not Climate Change, Is The ‘Greatest’ Threat To Ending The World

Donald Trump has declared that nuclear weapons, not climate change, pose the greatest existential threat to humanity. In a recent Fox News interview, Trump criticized “climate lunatics” for focusing on global warming while ignoring the immediate dangers of nuclear war. He dismissed concerns about rising sea levels, stating, “They say the ocean is gonna rise one-eighth of an inch over the next 300 years, but nobody ever talks about nuclear weapons…which could happen tomorrow.”

Trump also revealed that he has sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, urging negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. He warned that military action would be “a terrible thing” but emphasized that the U.S. cannot allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. The president has also called for discussions with China and Russia to de-escalate nuclear arms buildup, arguing, “There’s no reason for us to be building brand-new nuclear weapons. We already have so many—you could destroy the world 50 times over.”

This stance contrasts with the Biden administration’s focus on climate change as a major global challenge. While Trump acknowledges environmental issues, he insists that the far greater risk is a nuclear conflict, whether through intentional warfare or a catastrophic miscalculation. His remarks come amid rising tensions between nuclear-armed nations, including Russia, China, and Iran.

With Trump pushing for new nuclear agreements while simultaneously strengthening the U.S. military, his approach to global security continues to spark debate. Whether his strategy will lead to peace negotiations or escalate tensions further remains to be seen.
