Donald Trump has finally addressed the mysterious drone sightings over New Jersey, revealing that they were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for research purposes. The drones, first spotted in late 2024, sparked conspiracy theories, with some speculating they were linked to foreign surveillance or even extraterrestrial activity. Trump, who was not in office when the drones first appeared, had previously criticized the lack of transparency, even suggesting they be shot down.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the update, stating that the drones were primarily used for research, while some were flown by hobbyists and private individuals. She emphasized that despite public fears, there was no foreign or hostile involvement. Trump’s administration has recently prioritized declassifying controversial government files, including those related to historic assassinations, making this latest disclosure part of his broader push for transparency.

The lack of an official explanation last year led to widespread speculation, with experts offering theories ranging from data collection operations to classified military exercises. Some even believed the drones were testing urban surveillance or evasion technologies. Retired Navy SEAL Clint Emerson suggested they could have been gathering mobile phone data, while former CIA officer Laura Ballman proposed they were part of a classified urban warfare simulation.

Now that the White House has provided an answer, many hope this will ease public concerns. However, some remain skeptical, questioning whether all the drones seen were truly accounted for. Whether the explanation fully satisfies those who followed the mystery remains to be seen.
