UFC fighter Luana Pinheiro revealed she has been on strong medication and experienced significant pain after an unusual injury during her fight against Gillian Robertson at UFC Vegas 100. Pinheiro alleged that Robertson repeatedly elbowed her buttocks, with one strike hitting her directly in the anus. She described the move as disrespectful, particularly since one elbow came after the bell rang.
Pinheiro expressed frustration, saying, “It wasn’t the heat of the moment. She knew where she was hitting.” The injury left her unable to sit without a cushion and caused immense discomfort while walking, coughing, or even sneezing. “At first, I couldn’t walk, cough, or laugh properly. Sneezing was agony, I felt like I was dying,” she said in an interview.
The fighter also accused Robertson of malicious intent, arguing that the strikes were unnecessary and did not serve a strategic purpose in the match. She emphasized the importance of mutual respect in the octagon, especially as two women chasing similar dreams in a male-dominated sport.
