A Bull Terrier, appropriately named Trooper, who was left tied to a fence during Hurricane Milton, has been rescued and is now safe in foster care. The dog went viral after being found by a state trooper who saved him from near-certain death as the storm approached Florida. The Leon County Humane Society, where Trooper is recovering, called the former owner’s actions “cruel and thoughtless.”
Since the rescue, Trooper has captured the hearts of many, and the shelter has been inundated with adoption requests. However, he is still recovering from the traumatic experience and is not yet ready for adoption. The Humane Society emphasized that Trooper will remain in foster care until he’s fully healed.

In the meantime, the shelter has encouraged those interested in adopting to consider other animals in need of homes, highlighting the number of pets left behind in emergencies like hurricanes. Trooper’s story serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by pets during such disasters and the importance of responsible ownership.
When the time comes, Trooper is expected to have plenty of loving families eager to welcome him into their homes. His tale of survival has resonated with many, making him a symbol of resilience in the face of adversity.
