Wendy Williams has undergone an independent mental capacity evaluation at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City as part of an ongoing legal battle over her guardianship. The test was ordered by Gina Monterroso, a caregiver not associated with her court-appointed guardianship, after Williams claimed she was being unfairly confined to a memory care unit.
The NYPD recently visited Williams to assess her situation, investigating concerns that she is being held against her will. Additionally, Adult Protective Services has launched its own inquiry and has already interviewed Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, regarding the guardianship arrangement.

Williams is reportedly seeking legal representation from high-profile attorney Joe Tacopina to challenge the guardianship in court. If her request is denied, the case could move to a jury trial, where jurors would determine whether she has the cognitive ability to regain control over her personal and financial affairs.
With increasing scrutiny on her guardianship situation, Williams’ legal fight is gaining momentum. Whether this latest evaluation will support her claims or reinforce the need for continued oversight remains to be seen.
