Whoopi Goldberg didn’t hold back after Donald Trump called her “dumb” and “dirty” during one of his recent rallies. On The View, Goldberg addressed Trump’s comments head-on, proudly owning the “filthy” label. She quipped, “I have always been filthy, and you knew that when you hired me,” referring to a time Trump had hired her for a comedy gig. Her sharp retort included, “How dumb are you? You hired me four times.”
Goldberg and her co-hosts continued the banter, with Sunny Hostin adding a twist of irony, thanking Trump for providing their show with plenty of material. Hostin humorously said, “You help us do our jobs, and I’m so appreciative.” Alyssa Farah Griffin, who had worked in the Trump administration, weighed in too, pointing out Trump’s well-known discomfort with strong women and even suggesting that his own language is far “filthier” than Goldberg’s.
Trump: I have hired Whoopi to work for me as a comedian Her mouth was so foul, every word out of her mouth was like the F word. I was with a group of nice people. We had to leave. She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting. Oh, what a loser she is pic.twitter.com/Zv1pGXXmXA

While Goldberg took Trump’s remarks in stride, she also made a broader point about the former president’s focus. She highlighted the triviality of his attacks on their show during a time when the country is dealing with significant issues, including recent hurricanes. “This is what irritated him, not what’s going on,” she remarked, calling out Trump’s misplaced priorities.
Goldberg wrapped up the segment by poking fun at Trump’s insistence that he doesn’t watch The View. She noted, “When you hear people say, ‘I don’t watch that show,’ they’re lying!” It was a strong and humorous comeback, underscoring that Goldberg, as always, isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
