Whoopi Goldberg made a temporary exit from “The View” set during a conversation about foot fetishes. The episode, which aired on Tuesday on ABC, featured the hosts discussing a Guardian advice column where a man revealed his wife ceased foot massages after learning about his fetish.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin’s comment, “You have to entertain your partner’s kink, within reason,” prompted Goldberg, 68, to leave the stage. “Excuse me for a second,” said the “Sister Act” star as she departed.
Farah Griffin, 34, humorously remarked, “Whoopi has left the building.” When asked by panelist Joy Behar about her brief departure, Goldberg, also known for her role in “Ghost,” didn’t provide a clear reason but seemed to hand something to someone off-camera.
Goldberg humorously explained, “I was so enamored by what you were saying that I needed to take a breath so I could just get myself together, so I could come back to the table!” She added, “This is what this conversation does to people. It makes them get up and move.”
She jokingly concluded, “I don’t care ’cause my feet are huge, and no one wants to touch them!”
Goldberg is known for stepping away from “The View” table during discussions that don’t interest her. In a July 2023 episode, she left the stage during a debate about Miranda Lambert’s concert incident, where Lambert stopped her performance to address fans taking selfies. Goldberg, who sided with Lambert, became visibly irritated during the discussion, eventually taking selfies with audience members before a commercial break.
“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
