In a shocking case from Angola, Jackie Shroyer, wife of Minnesota pastor Beau Shroyer, has been charged with orchestrating her husband’s murder. The couple, who had moved to Angola in 2021 for missionary work, was reportedly facing marital issues, with Jackie allegedly engaging in an affair with the family’s security guard, Bernardino Elias. According to Angolan authorities, Jackie offered Elias and two other men $50,000 to carry out the murder. Police reports indicate that the three men staged a car breakdown to lure Beau, who was subsequently attacked and fatally stabbed.
The brutal crime has shaken both the Angolan and Minnesota communities, with Beau remembered for his dedication to missionary work and his passion for helping the underprivileged. Jackie and her accomplices, two of whom are now in custody, have drawn public outrage, particularly following the release of disturbing images from the crime scene, which included a blood-stained SUV and evidence linking Elias to the murder.
Beau Shroyer, a former police officer turned real estate agent, was deeply respected by his peers for his generosity and dedication. He regularly sent updates from Angola, where he worked to improve conditions for the Nyneka people, one of the country’s marginalized groups. Friends and former colleagues have expressed devastation over his tragic death, describing him as a “true servant” and a “client advocate.”
Currently, Jackie Shroyer is awaiting trial, and the U.S. State Department has extended its condolences to Beau’s family. The couple’s five children remain under the care of missionary organizations, while the investigation continues into what authorities describe as a premeditated and “diabolical” crime.
