Ten years ago, Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon disappeared while hiking the “El Pianista” trail in Panama. After months of searching, some of their remains were discovered, but what really caught attention was a disturbing photo on their phones. Found in a recovered backpack along with other belongings, their phones indicated attempts to call emergency services shortly after they got lost, but due to lack of signal, none of the calls went through.

Further investigation revealed the unsettling discovery that one phone continued to be switched on and off for days after the initial disappearance, suggesting either someone was trying to use it without success or they were desperately checking for a signal. The camera contained photos taken in the early morning hours of April 8th, showing their belongings laid out on rocks and a strange image of the back of Kremers’ head. These images, combined with their belongings being found scattered along a riverbank, raised numerous theories about what could have happened.

In the months following their disappearance, a more extensive search led to the discovery of additional remains, including a pelvis and a boot with a foot inside, which were confirmed to belong to Kremers and Froon. This chilling case has sparked various conspiracy theories due to the mysterious circumstances and the scant evidence left behind.

The case remains one of the most puzzling disappearances, with the disturbing photos on their devices only adding to the intrigue and speculation about what might have happened to these young women during their hike in Panama.
