X (formerly Twitter) just updated its terms of service, and it’s causing a stir. Starting November 15, the platform will have the right to use anything you post to train its AI models. Yes, that includes your tweets, photos, and any other content you share. By continuing to use the app, you’re agreeing to let X use your data for machine learning.

This change has artists and creators especially worried. Many fear their work could be used to train AI systems that might one day replace human creators. Some users have already started deleting photos or sensitive posts to protect their content.

The new terms also say that any legal disputes will be handled in Texas courts. This has some users thinking X is setting itself up for a legal advantage if anyone takes issue with these updates. Previously, you could opt out of sharing your data with X’s AI, but now it’s unclear if that’s even an option.

With this update, X is being more transparent than other platforms by spelling out exactly what it’s doing with your data. But it’s still raising serious concerns about privacy and how your content might be used in the future.
