Elon Musk has confirmed that X (formerly Twitter) was hit by a “massive cyber attack” on March 10, causing outages and disruptions for thousands of users. Musk stated that while X faces cyber threats daily, this attack was highly coordinated and likely involved either a large, organized group or a state-backed entity.

The outage, which occurred multiple times throughout the day, frustrated users, with many speculating about a possible link to recent anti-Musk protests. Some noted that the attack followed demonstrations against Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) policies and vandalism at Tesla stores. One user wrote, “First, protests against DOGE. Then, Tesla stores were attacked. Now, X is down.”

Musk did not confirm whether the attack was politically motivated or linked to recent tensions with his leadership in government and business. However, he assured users that X is actively working to trace the source of the cyber attack and restore full functionality.

With speculation running high, the incident raises concerns about cybersecurity threats targeting major tech platforms. More updates are expected as Musk and his team investigate further.
