Josh Hartnett has revealed that stalking incidents played a significant role in his decision to leave Hollywood. Speaking from his estate in Hampshire, England, Hartnett recounted terrifying experiences, including an incident where a man showed up at one of his premieres with a gun, claiming to be his father. The stalker was subsequently imprisoned. These and other incidents made Hartnett feel unsafe in Los Angeles, prompting his move to the English countryside with his wife and children.

Hartnett explained that while stalking wasn’t the only reason he left Hollywood, it contributed to his decision to avoid the potentially dangerous consequences of fame. Despite leaving the high-profile life of Hollywood, Hartnett continues to make movies. He stars in the upcoming psychological horror-thriller “Trap” by M. Night Shyamalan, where he plays a serial killer trying to escape a stadium-wide police operation.

Reflecting on his career, Hartnett expressed satisfaction with his current trajectory, noting that his move allowed him to spend more time with his family. He acknowledged that his career might have followed a different path had he remained in Hollywood, but he feels at peace with his choices and the balance he has achieved between work and family life.
