In reality, Hemsworth was the first man she slept with when she was 16.
Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of the 2010 movie “The Last Song” and began dating shortly thereafter. Although their characters’ romance mirrored their real-life relationship, Cyrus was not entirely truthful about her past. She confessed that she felt pressured to lie because she feared Hemsworth might think less of her. To maintain her fabricated story, she made up a name of someone she knew but had never actually been intimate with.
The truth eventually came out when one of Hemsworth’s friends married the man Cyrus had falsely claimed to have slept with. Faced with the awkward situation, Cyrus confessed to Hemsworth that she had lied about her virginity. Despite this revelation, the couple continued their relationship and got married in 2018, though they divorced less than a year later.
